Your questions about LPG and Rockgas Te Anau answered
If you have any questions about LPG or the service Rockgas Te Anau provides, take a look at these LPG FAQs first. If you’re still unsure or have questions of your own, please don’t hesitate to contact our friendly customer care team. We’re here to help and will assist you with anything you need.
Are you based in Te Anau?
Yes, we are in Te Anau. Our yard is located at 26 Snodgrass Road. Our drivers deliver LPG to homes and businesses in town Monday to Friday, and we service Manapouri and out of town areas on Fridays.
Do you fill 9kg gas bottles?
Absolutely. You can count on us for refills. However, we do recommend calling us first to make sure someone is available at the yard to help you out. Please call ahead to check on 03 2498908.
How do I use the Rockgas App?
To make things even easier for our customers, Rockgas has created a convenient mobile app for ordering LPG. Just download the Rockgas app onto your device, put in your details, and you’re good to go.
When not in use, how long can gas be safely stored in the cylinders?
Your gas bottles will be perfectly fine and safe to use for several years as long as they are stored upright and placed in a well-ventilated area. If you have ordered gas for your holiday home and there’s gas left in the bottle when you or your guests leave, it will be completely safe to use next season. It’s also perfectly fine to only use small amounts of gas over time.
If I sign up more than one property for gas deliveries, do I need an account for each?
No, you don’t need separate accounts. You can have multiple properties on just one Rockgas account. Feel free to give us a call on 03 2498908 if you have any questions.
Is using LPG safe? What should I do if I smell gas?
Our customers’ safety comes first at Rockgas Te Anau. Our gas bottles are designed to withstand huge amounts of pressure and heat. Even in an intense fire, our cylinders will not explode. The gas cylinders are carefully maintained and thoroughly tested. We also leak-test your hoses and connections during each delivery.
If you smell gas, it may not be a direct sign of danger. However, it’s best to be on the safe side and call us or a registered gas fitter right away. For an extensive overview of safety tips when using LPG cylinders large and small, click here.
